Terms of Service
The legal stuff — but every section starts with a plain-English summary, because terms you can't understand protect nobody.
1. Who we are
Plain English: We sell travel eSIMs. The mobile networks belong to our carrier partners — we're your guide to them.
Simcarrd ("we", "us") provides prepaid, data-only eSIM plans for travellers. We are a reseller: connectivity is delivered over the networks of our licensed carrier and connectivity partners in each destination. We are not a mobile network operator, and your purchase does not create a subscriber relationship with any local carrier.
2. Who can use Simcarrd
Plain English: Be 18+, and make sure your phone is eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked before you buy.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to purchase. Our eSIMs require an eSIM-compatible, carrier-unlocked device. It is your responsibility to confirm compatibility before purchase — our Compatibility page lists supported devices. Plans purchased for locked or incompatible devices are not eligible for a refund once delivered, because the eSIM profile is consumed on delivery.
3. What you get
Plain English: Mobile data only — no phone number, no calls, no SMS. The clock starts when your eSIM first connects.
Each plan provides a fixed data allowance valid for a fixed number of days in the destination(s) shown at purchase. Plans are data-only: they do not include a phone number, voice calls, or SMS. The validity period begins when your eSIM first connects to a supported network (or automatically after the activation window stated at purchase, whichever comes first). Unused data expires at the end of the validity period and has no cash value. Network speed and coverage depend on our partners' local networks and your location; speeds are not guaranteed and may be reduced in congested areas.
4. Ordering & delivery
Plain English: Your QR code appears instantly after payment and lands in your inbox. Keep it — it IS your eSIM.
eSIMs are delivered digitally and instantly: a QR code and manual activation details are shown after payment and emailed to the address you provide. Entering an accurate email address is your responsibility. Each eSIM profile supports a limited number of installations — deleting it from your device may permanently consume it, so install carefully and don't delete it while travelling.
5. Refunds & cancellations
Plain English: Haven't installed or used it? Full refund within 30 days. Once it's installed or data flows, it's like a used plane ticket — we can't take it back.
You may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase if the eSIM has not been installed and no data has been used. Once an eSIM has been installed on a device or any data has been consumed, the plan is non-refundable, because the underlying network resources are purchased and consumed on your behalf. If we fail to deliver your eSIM, or provisioning fails on our side, you receive a full refund. Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe and typically arrive within 5–10 business days. To request a refund, email support@simcarrd.com with your order ID. Initiating a chargeback for a delivered, used plan may result in suspension of service.
6. Fair & acceptable use
Plain English: Use it like a traveller, not like a data centre. Don't resell it, don't do illegal things with it.
You agree not to use the service for unlawful purposes, to send spam, to operate commercial hotspots, or to resell connectivity. Plans are for personal use. We and our network partners may suspend service for abuse, unusual machine-generated traffic, or use that threatens network integrity, in line with partner fair-use policies.
7. Pricing & payment
Plain English: The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Cards are handled by Stripe — we never see your card number.
Prices are shown in USD with indicative conversions to other supported currencies; the exact amount is confirmed on the Stripe checkout page before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your card details. Prices may change at any time, but never for a plan you have already purchased. Promotional and referral discounts apply only at the moment of purchase.
8. Our responsibility to you
Plain English: When something on our side breaks, we make it right. But we can't control mountains, basements, or local network outages.
We provide the service with reasonable skill and care. However, mobile coverage is inherently variable: we are not liable for lack of coverage in specific locations, local network outages, device incompatibility, or losses arising from being temporarily offline. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that plan. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud.
9. Your privacy
Plain English: We collect the minimum needed to deliver your eSIM, and we never inspect what you do with your data.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect (your email, order details, and eSIM identifiers), who processes it (Stripe for payments, our connectivity partner for provisioning, our email provider for delivery), and your rights. We do not monitor, log, or sell your browsing activity over the eSIM.
10. Changes, law & contact
Plain English: If we change these terms, the version you bought under still covers that purchase. Questions? support@simcarrd.com — a human reads it.
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date, and each purchase is governed by the terms in force at the time of purchase. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Contact: support@simcarrd.com.
Also read our Privacy Policy. Confused by a clause? Ask us — we answer in human, not legalese.
